It didn't sound live exactly, more like she had recorded a version of the song that wasn't as "manipulated" and was singing along with the backing track in parts because her mic had to be turned on at the end to speak to Dermott. Although, I actually preferred this version to the synthesized one she has released and, in fairness, she was dancing so she should be allowed to mime as any other performer would if they were dancing. don't see what all the fuss was about. Least she wasn't off her face on drugs (naming no names haha!)

Cheryl was the best performance of the night... the song the x factor finalist sung they MIMED it... Whitney had too much backing vocals...

Credit where credit's due, the girl done good. However...Whitney was crap and it looked like she wanted to kill Dermot at the end.

Leo have right...she sad that she will have a little help...& she got it...it wasn't exactly live...yet not the expert can come to this...& if this was singing...wow...it was like talking or something similar...So I don't know why so much purr around her when Brit have many, many but many better performers...why don't you invest in someone able to make this work professionaly!? why amasing? Her incredably well paid job is to sing and dance live. so again why amasing when one assumes that at all thoses sell out shows she and her fellow band mates sang live. It wasn't amasing She was just doing her over hyped job. Or were you as a site amased that she could do the basics?

I'm sorry but her 'sining' was truely awful, she should be ashamed when most of her boys who are just starting out can sing better than her! Yes I agree the routine was good, but that's what girls aloud are best known for.I think she should stick to being part of a group, at least it covers up her voice!

yeh lose the stupid outfit cheryl. her voice was nowhere near good enough to be a professional singer, the dancing was cool it saved her. of course simon had to say he liked it, it def didnt deserve a standing applause.

cheryl was really good... not perfect but great performance and dance routine and she sang live.... Whitney looked old, and looked worse than what robbie was high on...... I dont know what they give performers backstage on te x-factor but robbie and whitney need to slow down...

It does not make a joke out of the contestants. Cheryl wasn't performing to be judged by Danni and Simon, she's been there and done that. Once one of the contestants wins then they can mime and dance just like Alex did last week. Cheryl was there to promote her new single, just like Whitney, Robbie etc etc. Pop music is all about entertainment, and I think she did a great job entertaining me. I didn't really like the song until last night, and now its growing on me.

see i like cherly and i like the song but i was bored watching it last night. i felt like she was going slow and the dance moved were tamed down .the only but where i went woo was when she did the end bit. but alexandra was WAYYYY better in my opinon

She was sh*t.. seriously, what planet were you all on at that point? She criticised those girls in that group for dressing as sluts and what does she come out in? A totally slutty outfit. Cheryl did a u-turn. She went on radio stations & told the press that she was singing ‘live’ but the performance was pre-recorded. Then she obviously saw the backclash about it & then decided to ding live. All those excuses about costume changes were rubbish. She was scared because she was worried that her voice wouldn’t be good enough live. I think Cheryl is over-hyped & over-rated at times. She gets praised like mad, but really & truly she hasn’t really done anything that great to be praised for. So she’s a judge on the X factor, so what? Why don’t they praise Dannii!! The X Factor is all about Cheryl & has become the Cheryl Cole show. Have u noticed they that’s he only really communicates with Simon. Her body language is only towards him. Did u notice the gap between Simon & Cheryl & Danni. Simon & Cheryl were sat close together & there wasa huge gap between Dannii & the other two. Danni was kind of left on her own. To be honest I don’t think she did that much flat out dancing that everyone is claiming. For about 90% of her performance, she was stood in front of the dancers in the same spot, doing arm movements & just moving her head. It was only right at the end that she really started to properly dance. Britney Spears is a brilliant dancer. When she doing a coregraphed dance with her dancers she is on point. Britney always covers the stage herself dancing through her performance. That is why she mimes. Comparing Britney perform, Cheryl, britney wins hands down!!

Cheryl cant talk about Kandy Rain & their outfits when she wore exactly the same top as one of the girls did!! Hypocrite. That to me, just shows she doesn’t know what she is talking about. Its alright fir her to wear a Lady Gaga inspired top but Kandy Rain couldn’t! I think most people wanted her to come out |& sing a kind of ballad song. I think Whitney wanted to put on upbeat show so she came out singing her latest song. There are better songs on the album that show off her voice better. The dress situation help either, it came apart & it was far too long, so it put her off her performance so she was not 100% comfortable in it. The fact that her dress came apart as well as feeling nervous about performing live on stage in the UK 10 years got to her. The stylist who gave Whitney that dress is gonna get the sack lol!! She really wanted to put on good show but the dress thing made her nervous & when she was talking to Dermot she wasn’t ‘out of it’ like everybody is claiming but disappointed because she felt that her performance didn’t go how she wanted it to, so she looked very disappointed & that’s why she couldn’t really make eye contact with Dermot. She wasn’t being rude, but she was disappointed. It was the same with Britney last year. She had a tough time & her comeback on UK soil was on the X Factor looked very nervous in her performance. Whitney hasn’t performed in along long time so she needs to get back into the stride of things, when she does she’ll be back on form. GO WHITNEY!!!!

Why doesn’t Simon get Christina Aguilera to perform she is one great singer!! The contestants always sing her songs so the least they could do is get her to perform. Wow, what a performance that would be! That would show Cheryl how its really done!

mr paparazzi are both tone deaf and stupid? that was an awfull performance.she sang crap and well the dancing was just terrible.the whole performance was sh*t.truely unbelievably crap.how can anybody call that amazing?hype her up mr paparazzi and brainwash the public into thinking that performance was even remotely watchable.it was cringe worthy.

what's with the weird trousers? I think the vocals are okay but not brilliant. If she went up against any of the other acts in X factor (bar John and Edward) she would be voted out pretty quickly. I don't think her voice is strong enough to be a soloist, Girls Aloud are great and I don't understand why she wants to go it alone?

Cheryl was fantastic, there's no denying it. People just can't seem to accept that she is an excellent performer. Why people always want her to fail I don't know, but as far as i'm concerned she SMASHED IT, SMASHED IT, SMASHED IT! No1 this weekend Chezza!

I like Cheryl as a person but im sorry her performance was not good! Maybe the dancing but the voice was bad, flat tone, and she doesnt have a strong voice, her voice is fine for a group but not solo! sorry!!!
