The media mogul who’s been earning around £6.7m a year for producing and starring in X Factor and Britain's Got Talent - will now only pocket an annual salary of around £5m.
Poor didums, however will he survive? Despite the cut, Simon is reportedly delighted with the deal (which he’s due to sign papers on in the next few days) and said: "I wouldn't work anywhere else."
This new deal will ensure that the budgets for Cowell's shows will not be affected by cost-cutting.

I must be one of the only people that actually likes Simon Cowell....not matter what people think he started right at the bottom and worked his way up. People will say he's loaded but he appreciates that which is why he's took the pay cut....don't think Bruce Forsyth would ever do the same and the BBC would be too scared to ask him which says a lot about his approachability. You realise how much he cares for his Shows and the Staff that work on them by forfeitting his pay to keep the good quality of the show.....
