During an emotional interview with Larry King last night, Mariah Carey admitted that she’d been “emotionally” and “mentally” abused by men in the past.

When asked how she felt about Rihanna’s relationship with Chris Brown, the singer admitted she’d been in an emotionally abusive relationship but refused to name with whom. When pressed as to why she stayed with the abusive partner she replied:

“Well it’s scary. I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in — if your situation is similar to one of the situations I've been in, which I won't harp on” she added:

“For me, to really get out, it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing where the person was in control of my life."

Luckily though Mariah seems much happier these days in her relationship with current hubby Nick Cannon…
