Lindsay Lohan poses naked for New York magazine 19/02/08

The ever-demure Lindsay Lohan has got her kit off for New York magazine and has recreated Marilyn Monroe’s last ever photo shoot which was appropriately titled The Last Sitting. Now aside from the fact it’s Lindsay Lohan (and we all know what that means) we were slightly miffed that she agreed to this shoot and it turns out we weren’t the only ones! Lohan’s publicist has revealed to Radar:

‘The plan to publish nudes—a monumental move in her career—was never made clear, Lohan's rep says. Photographer Bert Stern, the now 78-year-old most famous for getting Marilyn Monroe to strip on film six weeks before her overdose on barbiturates (then going ahead and publishing contact sheets Monroe had exed out with red marker), suggested a much less revealing homage for the mag. A rumor from the very closed set suggests Stern dangled the possibility that the nudes would be displayed only in a museum or as part of his book and that the tamer shots would go to New York.’

Oh dear, it looks like somebody has got some explaining to do!

i don't believe she didn't intend publication, which is what the story says above. i don't buy that for a second she needed to do this to be seen as a grown up and stop getting herbie love bug movie offers. the denial is just part of the whole strategy. at least i hope that her "handlers" are that smart. for her to get screwed on the publication of nude photos like this without knowing or trusting that the photographer would not publish them and save them from a book or a museum show is just ridiculous. these are people that negotiate million dollar nudity clauses in movies and they are not so stupid as to allow that to happen.
