According to reports Cheryl is in a “great deal of pain” as she battles the disease and faces being off work for a full six months. Sources close to the singer said:
"It is a lot more serious than first thought. Everyone thought she would pull through after 24 hours but there have been no signs of improvement."
"She is very ill and will not be out of hospital for a while. Everyone is holding their breath. Because of her hectic schedule, the malaria has really taken a hold."
Meanwhile as news emerged about Cheryl’s condition her bandmate Nadine Coyle told her followers on Twitter:
“Oh noo. You guys just told me about Cheryl I have been so paranoid about malaria my grandad had it. Let's say a wee prayer all is ok. Xx”
