Fans of the singer were expecting Pete to perform on the Nissan Juke Arena in Essex, but when Shaun Ryder (of Happy Mondays fame) stepped out onstage to do his set instead of Andre they began shouting “who are ya? Who are ya? Who are ya?!” etc etc etc.

Obviously confused Ryder ended up screaming back: "Are my ears f**ked, or are you shouting New Order?"

Nah your ears are just f-ed Shaun. Sadly what the angry fans didn’t realise was that Peter was in fact performing on the Nissan Juke Arena at the V Festival but in Staffordshire – which is bloody miles away from Essex. Shame.

Meanwhile as things were getting out of hand in Chelmsford, we spotted Pete happily performing in Staffordshire….
