The Hollywood star was there to promote his new movie, ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’, but during his chat with the talkshow host he also touched on the subject of his recent cancer diagnosis. He said:
“I found out about three weeks ago… This particular type of cancer is caused by alcohol and drinking. I smoked cigarettes and drank.”
Asked by Letterman if it was a good diagnosis, Douglas said, “Um, no” and when Letterman asked if the doctors had found the cancer early enough Douglas laughed and answered, “I sure as sh*t hope so.”
