Seeing as they didn’t sign a pre-nup when they got married, Russell Brand was technically entitled to half of Katy Perry’s $44million fortune when they divorced.
But, being the obviously honourable chap that he is, the comedian has told his lawyers - and indeed a judge - that he doesn’t want a penny of his soon-to-be ex-wife’s money.
He filed his final divorce papers yesterday in which he has asked for f-all from Katy - apart from a divorce, obvs. Their marriage won’t be official over until June however, as there’s now a six-month waiting period.
So, shame on those who thought he was only marrying Katy for money and fame. Turns out it was just the fame he was after (probs).
