It seems to be the consensus that Katy Perry used her Grammy’s performance last night to take a massive pop at her soon-to-be ex-husband Russell Brand.
In fact it’s hard to think of any other reason why the singer would change the lyrics of one of her tunes to sound so blatantly like a strike at him.
Katy – who arrived at the ceremony in this blue lace dress but soon changed out of it into something more suitable to perform – did a medley of her songs ET and Part Of Me at the ceremony, but when it came to singing the latter track – which happens to be a new one - she altered the words slightly:

Katy – who arrived at the ceremony in this blue lace dress but soon changed out of it into something more suitable to perform – did a medley of her songs ET and Part Of Me at the ceremony, but when it came to singing the latter track – which happens to be a new one - she altered the words slightly:
In one part of the song the original words were: “You can keep the dog from me, I never liked him anyway.” But last night she sang instead: “keep your diamond ring, in fact, you can keep everything – except for me.”
The brand new song also included the words: “You chewed me up and spit me out/Like I was poison in your mouth/You took my light, you drained me down/You ripped me off, your love was cheap.”
Oh dear. So perhaps Katy thought those lyrics rhymed better than the previous ones? Let’s be honest though – it’s doubtful.
