Marvin and Rochelle have always seemed like one of the most genuinely happy celeb pairings, so when the JLS singer popped the question during a romantic winter break in the Maldives last year, we weren’t in the least bit surprised.

Speaking to Hello! magazine about the moment he asked The Saturdays singer to be his wife, Marvin recalls:

“I can’t tell you how many times I’d rehearsed what to say, but when the moment came to speak it all went to pieces – the only time I’ve ever messed my words up!

“I was stuttering and stumbling. I said to Rochelle, ‘I want to make you the happiest man… No, I mean I want you to make me the happiest man’. It was getting all confused.”

After he finally got his words out and Rochelle said ‘yes’ she admits she couldn’t stop staring at her new ring.

She said, “I kept waking up, gazing at my ring and thinking ‘Yes!’ After a couple of days Marvin did have to say to me, ‘Babe, you’ve got to stop looking at it!’”

And it sounds like the excitement of being engaged still hasn’t worn off as just the other night Rochelle Tweeted:

“Good bye LA, airport here we come!! Looking forward to seeing my fiancé *eek* (I can say that now) woooo :) xx”
