Update: Batman star Christian Bale has been released on bail pending further inquiries after being questioned over an alleged assault....

Previous update: Police have now arrested Batman star Christian Bale with regards to yesterdays assault claims. A spokesperson for the police revealed: "A 34-year-old man attended a London Police Station on Tuesday by appointment and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault. He currently remains in custody."

Initial report: The morning after the night before, last night Christian Bale was the man of the moment, making the most of all the attention on the red carpet as he attended the European premiere of The Dark Knight. However, just a few hours earlier police were called to the Dorchester Hotel over an alleged assault in his hotel suite…

The allegation, which is still being investigated by police, was made by the actors 61-year-old mother and 40-year-old sister at police station in Hampshire yesterday but in light of the premiere and what with him being the star, police decided questioning could wait until the morning. So we’ll just have to keep you posted on how this bizarre story plays out.

In the pictures of him at the premiere, he looks rather mean.....I bet he has a temper....so do I, though but I don't go about assaulting my family members....OTOH, perhaps there's more to this story....I'm sure he'll be as tight-lipped about this aspect of his personal life as the rest of it!
