Yet Another Blow For Britney

Turns out Rihanna's record breaking single 'Umbrella' was originally written for troubled singer Britney Spears. The song produced by Tricky Stewart was offered to Britney first:

"I was working with Tricky in his studio the day he finished 'Umbrella'. As soon as I heard it I said, 'That is a smash, I have to have it,' but he told me it was on hold for Britney. He waited but Britney's people never called him back".

Damn, with 'people' like that working for her what chance has Britney really got?

rihanna's voice was perfect for umbrella, just cuz it's a great song doesn't mean it was great for britney...it's really not her style.

If this is true, den i'm glad it went2rihanna. I've got nothing against Britney but I just can't see her singing umbrella. I also heard somewhere else that the song was originally written 4 Mary J bliege. Maybe dat was wrong.
