10 days before his untimely death Michael Jackson made his last public appearance, dressed eccentrically as ever, looking frail and skinny.

The star had just been at a meeting in Beverly Hills, close to his home, when he was spotted leaving the office block wearing his trademark facemask and a black hat.

Jackson passed away last night after suffering a massive heart attack in his LA home. Although the exact circumstances of his death are not yet known, his personal doctor was allegedly with him when he collapsed but could not revive him.

An autopsy will be held in LA today but those close to the star believe it was his addiction to prescription drugs - which he has been taking to cope with previous injuries, including a broken vertebrae - that killed him.

The Jackson’s family lawyer Brian Oxman said after his death:

“This was something which I feared and something which I warned about. This is a case of abuse of medication, unless there is another cause that I don’t know about. Where there is smoke there is fire.”

An autopsy on Jackson’s body will take place later today, and it’s expected that investigators will focus on the claims that the star had a long-term addiction to painkillers as they seek to establish the cause of his death.

i cant belive he dies its a tragejy ill always remember him by his music he was a great hit i was hoping he would live on forever even though hes dead hes rememberance will live for ever and so will hi music because he ispired lots of children and grown up that want to be like him he had billions of friends and fans and its really trajec that hes died but his music will live on forever he was one of the most famous faces on the planet most the world knew him and he was always a hard working man and everyone will badely miss him because he was brilliant he always had something new he always made us laugh and produced more intresting song that no one could amagine how funny it was because this death willl live withus forever and ever

The USA is addicted to drugs and all sorts of medicines. Just look at the supermarket shelves. Michael is just one more victim. Regrettably, not everyone will be sad at his passing away due to the allegations and reported pay-offs, but his music will live on!

i just cant believe Michael Jackson died i mean it was so sudden i totali wasnt expecting to hear this on the 25th June when i was at my prom my friend texted me and told me the bad news i was absolutly devestated i mean i realli couldnt stop cryin, still now....im so sad ); i wish he was still with us because he was such a great loving and beautiful person so caring and sweet well i just cant get over it its a shock totali like. Why did his family not stop him from doing those coming concerts, this was to much for him, he should have retired earlier, to have a better life than he had before, i heard his father had beaten him when he was a child, i think his father ruined his life, we will allways remember this great artist, even here in Holland
