The mum-of-three rang up Channel 5's The Wright Stuff this morning after seeing a string of tabloid reports about the sex attack.
Yesterday Katie revealed in her OK! magazine column that she’d been raped by a “famous celebrity” but refused reveal the identity of said public figure.
“I haven't just come out and said I got raped, I was actually sticking up for Alex” she said in her defence today.
"It come out in the newspapers that he was doing this rape thing and I stuck up for him in my OK column. I would never do something like that for sympathy. It has all got out of context, I think it is really out of order to say I would do it for sympathy I would never do that.”
The 31-year-old then went on to say that she was “absolutely livid” that the press have continued to write, and speculate, about her claims before adding:
"I'm shocked it's come out just because I'm sticking up for Alex. I just have to ride the storm."
When asked by the show’s host if she would ever reveal the identify of her attacker, Katie replied: “Never, never, absolutely not.”
