Veteran chatshow host David Letterman sensationally confessed on air last night to having had affairs with female members of his staff.

Letterman made the admission after he was allegedly blackmailed by a TV producer who threatened to make a film about the affairs unless he paid him $2m.

But rather than giving the blackmailer the cash, the presenter decided to tell the police about the plot, who then arrested the man. Later that day Letterman appeared on his show to tell his viewers about the blackmailer’s scheme and his affairs.
