As Cheryl Cole’s debut solo single continues to soar up the charts rumours have surfaced about the originality of the Girls Aloud singer’s track.
Music fans have pointed out startling similarities between Cheryl’s, Fight For This Love and Kelis’ 2007 hit single Lil Star and a respected music reviewer has added fuel to the fire by saying:
“It is kind of a generic mishmash of better R 'n' B songs. Plus Cheryl is no Kelis vocally - it is thin and characterless rather than soulful and husky.”
In fact the criticism has reached such a fever pitch that Cheryl’s spokesman has been forced to release a statement saying, “There are no similarities.”
