First it was Russell Brand stepping out in a questionable outfit as he left a gym in Los Angeles the other day, but yesterday it was his girlfriend Katy Perry’s turn to surprise us with her random choice of attire.

The I Kissed A Girl singer was wearing a teeny tiny pair of hotpants, running shoes and a hoodie, which she’d teamed with an expensive Chanel handbag during a shopping trip to Sunset Plaza on Thursday afternoon.

We thought she might have been on her way to the gym but after purchasing some clothes in Traffic she made her way to ChinChin and picked up a takeaway Chinese meal for two before heading home.

Katy's a smart chick with a lot going for her. I just don't get what going on. I hope it's all in service of her career and she knows what she's doing. She's lost her spark from the last few photos I've seen.
