And it seems that while in India Lindsay managed to get into hot water after she reportedly portrayed complex child rescue operations as fairly superficial events.
The Mean Girls actress came under fire after she appeared to tell her followers on Twitter she’d helped to rescue 40 Indian children. She said:
"Over 40 children saved so far... Within one day's work... This is what life is about... Doing THIS is a life worth living!!!"
Activists in India have described LiLo’s comments as misleading as the raids, on 15 workshops in central Delhi, took months of careful planning. One activist has accused the star of portraying the operations in a superficial light, as though they could have been carried out by any passing celebrity.
However a BBC spokesperson stressed that Lindsay did not actually say that she was present at the raids, saying:
“She was merely referring to a raid that happened connected to child trafficking - the subject of the programme."
He also added that the final documentary would be "high-quality, informative and engaging".
And that, dear readers, is the only time you’re probably ever going to hear the words “high-quality, informative and engaging” in the same sentence as “Lindsay Lohan” ever again…
