Apparently Becks asked the Simpsons creators if they’d like him to make a cameo appearance on the animated show and unfortunately they said no thank you very much.

The show’s principal writer and executive producer Al Jean revealed:

“We get a lot of requests from celebrities, and it’s always a shame when we have to turn people down.

“We had a request from David Beckham and I had to phone him up and tell him sorry but I didn’t want him on the show right now.”

Al admitted he’s received a lot of stick for his decision to reject David but he’s standing firm and insists the footballer isn’t a “big enough star” for the American audience.
