The actor – who we caught up with yesterday going on holiday with his girlfriend Renee Zellweger - recently revealed he was amazed when he read tabloid reports which suggested he and former co-star Victor Garber were dating after the pair attended a public event together.

“People thought we were dating” he said. “It was all over the internet. It was the first time I read a rumour like that about me, and I just thought it was fantastic."

Despite the tabloid rumours Cooper says that when he began dating Zellweger he didn’t feel it was immediately necessary to go public with his relationship in order to prove he was heterosexual. Although he adds he "really likes” Renee “very much" - which she’ll be glad to hear no doubt.

Isn’t it nice to hear about a Hollywood star being so comfortable about his sexuality. If only (name removed for legal reasons) could be more like that eh?
