Well, actually that’s a bit of a lie; we once briefly thought about why they'd split-up but then we got distracted by some food that was in front of us because we were hungry and hadn’t really eaten any breakfast that day.

Anyway, we digress; in an interview featured in the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine in the US, John has described his split from Jen as one of the “worst times of my life”. The singer said:

“I’ve never really gotten over it, it was one of the worst times of my life.”

In the interview John also says that he thinks Jen is “f***ing fantastic” which begs the question: why on earth did he break up with her in the first place then?! He explains:

“I have this weird feeling, a pride thing, for the people I’ve had relationships with.

“What would I be saying to Jen, who I think is f***ing fantastic, if I said to her: ‘I don’t dislike you. In fact, I like you extremely well.

“But I have to back out of this because it doesn’t arc over the horizon. This is not where I see myself for the rest of my life — this is not my ideal destiny.’”

Doesn’t arc over his horizon? Not his ideal destiny? Blimey, it looks like someone’s been reading one too many Jackie Collins novels…
