Some images publish in the newspapers the very next day, or it could be that they are stored in an archive and used a few months down the line.

Don’t worry though, that’s what we are good at. We will chase the payments and you will be sent a nice pay cheque. Some sets of pictures will publish several times over the years and you will get paid every time they are used.
