Early Life

David Beckham was born on May 2nd, 1975 in the United Kingdom. After moving to Chingford during his high school years, Beckham attended the London School of Economics where he studied for a Bachelor’s degree in business management.

David began his professional career with Manchester United when he signed as a youth player at 15-years old.

During his time playing for Manchester United from 1992-2003, Beckham helped them win six Premiership titles and two FA Cups before leaving England’s most successful club for the Spanish soccer team Real Madrid CF.

This is after receiving offers from Los Blancos worth $40 million annually between salary and endorsements. He spent five seasons with the Madrid giants winning one La Liga championship title before returning back to Britain to play for the English team, Paris Saint-Germain.

After three seasons with PSG, Beckham began a new chapter in his career when he signed a five-year contract worth $50 million to join L.A Galaxy of Major League Soccer where he would go on to win one MLS Cup and two Supporters Shields before retiring from professional soccer at the end of 2012.

In addition, David was named as an MLS All-Star four times during his time playing for Los Angeles becoming one of just nine players that have been selected to represent them all six years since its inception back in 2005.

In 2015, after being heavily linked with several teams around Europe including Arsenal FC and Manchester United it was announced that Beckham had agreed to move into the ownership role of a new Miami-based MLS franchise.

David Beckham is undoubtedly one of the most globally successful athletes of all time.

With his ever-growing business ventures both on and off the pitch, it’s hard to see how he could be topped any time soon.

Beckham’s long-standing association with Adidas is said to be worth $160 million alone. Other notable sponsors include Samsung, Pepsi, Burger King, Armani Exchange, Breitling watches, and Sainsbury’s supermarket chain.

In addition to his playing career, David Beckham also has successful business ventures both on and off the pitch which have made him one of the wealthiest athletes in the world.

As the co-founder of two soccer teams, Beckham shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. So, what does the future hold for this footballing legend? Only time will tell.
