Ekta Kapoor was born on June 07, 1975, in Mumbai, India. She is the daughter of the veteran superstar Jitendra Kapoor and her mother is Sobha Kapoor who are both in the entertainment industry as actors. Ekta Kapoor has one younger brother, Tusshar Kapoor who is also an actor in the Bollywood industry.
Ekta Kapoor went to the Bombay Scottish School, Mahim for her primary education and later attended Mithibai College for her college education.
Ekta Kapoor started her career when she was just 17 years old. She worked as an intern for Kailash Surendranath where she was exposed in film making.
