Kangana Ranaut was born in Bhambla, a small village in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Her father, Amardeep Ranaut, is a businessman and her mother, Asha Ranaut, is a schoolteacher. She has a sister named Rangoli Ranaut who is a manager and a brother named Akshat.
Kangana studied at DAV School in Chandigarh and wanted to pursue medicine after her course. Unfortunately, she failed a test in one subject which made her think twice about what she wants to do in the future.
By the age of sixteen, she decided to move to Delhi to pursue other paths even though she was unsure which path. In Delhi, Elite Modelling Agency noticed her and asked her to work for them as a model. She agreed but she then realized that she didn’t like the nature of the work.
