Kenny Anderson was born on October 30, 1970, in Queens, New York. He and his two sisters Sandra and Danielle were raised by their single mother Joan and he met his father for the first time when he was already 30 years old.
Kenny grew up in a poor household and he dreamed of providing for her own mother that’s why he wanted to become a professional basketball player. In October 2005, Kenny’s mom passed away due to a heart attack.
Kenny Anderson was selected by the New Jersey Nets in 1991 and he was the youngest player. He averaged seven points, two rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. During his second season, he averaged 18.8 points and 9.6 assists.
In 1996, Kenny signed a contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. After two years, his team traded him to the Toronto Raptors but he refused since he didn’t want to play in Canada which prompted his team to trade him to Boston instead.
Kenny spent an ample amount of time with Boston Celtics before he transferred to Seattle SuperSonics and in 2003 he played again for the Hornets.
Kenny was part of the US national team in the 1990 FIBA World Cup Championship where the team won bronze.
