Early Life

Janette Lane Bradbury was born on the 17th of June 1938 in Buckhead,Georgia, USA. From a young age Bradbury identified her interest in the arts and was enrolled in ballet at the age of five. By the time she was 12. Bradbury had joined Atlanta Ballet. In the 50s, she moved to New York to pursue a dancing career and was immediately admitted to the Actor’s Studio as the youngest member.

Career Highlights

Lane Bradbury made her acting debut on Broadway when she was cast in the play ‘J.B.’ She worked alongside Raymond Masseyy and Christopher Plummer for the play, creating an impactful first project. Seeing her talent and stage presence,Tennessee Williams cast Bradbury for a starring role in the play ‘Night of the Iguana.’ For this project,she worked alongside veteran actress Bette Davis. Bradbury’s success in the theaters was undeniable and she became the first actress to portray Dainty June in the original production of ‘Gypsy.’

In 1958 Bradbury made her first ever TV appearance as Piney on Kraft Television’s theater adaptation of ‘The Outcasts of Poker Flat.’ The experience seemingly sparked Bradbury’s interest in TV and by the 1960s she was confident in her acting skills and success in New York and wanted to spread her wings in Hollywood. Bradbury and her then-husband Lou Antonio moved to Los Angeles so she could begin a career on TV.

Bradbury landed her first role in 1963 when she appeared on an episode of ‘The Doctors and The Nurses.’ She continued to make guest appearances on TV series’ such as ‘Mr Novak’ and ‘The Fugitive.’ In 1965, Bradbury and her husband had the opportunity to collaborate on a project when the pair was cast in an episode of ‘Gunsmoke.’ The appearance was a hit and in 1967, Bradbury was brought back as part of the main cas. Bradbury’s career skyrocket in the 70s and she landed her first film appearance in the TV fiil ‘Maybe I’ll Come Home in the Spring.’ he eventually found her way onto the films ‘The Ultimate Warrior’ and Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.’

Bradbury has since appeared in ‘Savannah,’ ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ and many other great films. She has also ventured into writing and received a writing credit for the film ‘From the Midst of Pain’ which was released in 2010. Her talent has been recognised and awarded at multiple film festivals over the years.

Currently, Bradbury continues to express her art at the Valkyrie Theatre of Dance, Drama and Film as the artistic director. Bradbury founded the non-profit organization with the aim of using art to help at-risk children and teens find hope and healing and eventually find a sense of self identity.

Personal Life

Bradbury married fellow actor and director Lou Antonio in 1965 and the two were blessed with two daughters.The couple eventually went their separate ways in 1980 following a divorce. Bradburyy has not been in a public relationship since her divorce and her relationship status remains unknown to the general public.

Following in the footsteps of her parents, Elkin Antoniu found her way into the arts and is currently an award-winning documentarian,director, and writer.
