Early Life

Michael Le was born on the 19th of March 2000 in West Palm Beach Florida to his father and mother Teena. He was raised alongside his younger brothers Daniel and Jonathan and his sister Tiffany. Michael developed an interest in dance from an early age and attended his first dance class at the age of 12. He describes dancing as a freeing experience and a form of self-expression. While in high school, Michael took videography and photography classes to improve on his content.

Career Highlights

Michael began his content creation journey in 2014 when he cretaed his first YouTube channel ‘Michael Le’. On the channel, he posted short dance videos and later transitioned to dance tutorials and challenges. During the time, Michael amassed a huge audience but unfortunately had his channel closed due to a violation of YouTube’s policies.

Michael moved on to Musical.ly, later Tik Tok, and again gained a large audience due to his trendy moves. For a moment during the transition of the app, Michael felt displaced as his kind of content barely received any attention. Things turned around for him when Tik Tok dances became the hype and his content began to blow up. In an attempt to stay on top of the numerous other talented dancers on the app, Michael began to change the nature of his content.

The risk-taking and different approach to his content eventually paid off in 2019 when a video of him and his friend dancing to the hit song ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ on an escalator went viral. The video remains the most shared video on the platform to date. Making the most out of his newfound fame, Michael took another shot at YouTube and created another YouTube channel where he shares dance and prank videos, gaming videos among others. Michael remains focused on surpassing any expectations he could have set for himself and promises fans dynamic content.

In 2020, Michael co-founded the Shluv House with four other content creators. The five creators get together to make viral content every now and then. Michael brought his family along with his brand ‘The Shluv Family’ and guides them until they are ready to venture out on their own.

Michael has opened up about being inspired by Asian content creators and thrives to continue to represent the Asian community in the industry. His determination and goal to inspire people around him to have faith and pursue what they love have continued to shape his career. Michael’s come-up may appear overnight to the outside eye but he assures anyone working on breaking through that he too worked tirelessly for 4 years before his big break.

Michael’s success comes with a hefty paycheck and he was ranked as the sixth highest-paid star on the platform with an impressive $1.2 million annual income. Michael is also a brand ambassador for Band energy drinks and Safeguard. Michael is also growing his brand Shluv by the day and the sky truly is the limit for him.
