Kidman was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA on June 20, 1967 to Australian parents on student visas. Her mother worked as a nursing instructor while her father was a clinical psychologist and author. The family moved to Sydney, Australia when the actress was just 4 years old. Back home, she took part in the local theatre program and reportedly had a knack for drama, mime and other forms of performance art.


Kidman has received critical acclaim for her versatile career and expansive range as an actress.
