When Imai was only seven years old, her father and brother used to train her for snowboarding, being professional snowboarders. They used to train her about 18 hours a day, from which Imai got more skills in snowboarding. After completing high school studies, Imai entered forgo post-secondary education to focus on snowboarding. After spending some time there, she became an expert in ‘Half-pipe’.
In 2006, she took part in the ‘Winter Olympics’ held in Turin, Italy but could not succeed because of her severe injury and came in last.
