Kerry was born in Warrington, Cheshire. Her grandfather is Hungarian, he fled Budapest to London due to the Second World War.

She was raised in foster care from a young age. Kerry was  placed under the care of four different foster parents and went to eight different schools until dropping out at the age of 16. At that time Kerry became a lap dancer then joined a dance group that traveled around Europe.

Her impressive career started in 1999 when an 18-year-old Kerry Katona rose to fame as a member of the all-female British pop trio, Atomic Kitten. She joined the original members of the music group, Liz McClarnon, and Natasha Hamilton.

Katona achieved massive success with the Atomic Kitten’s as their first single, “Right Now“, released in November 1999 peaked at number ten on the U.K. Singles Chart. Greater success came in March 2000 when their second single, “See Ya” was released, peaking at number six on the U.K. Singles Chart.

The pop trio has released numberous other successful singles like Whole Again, Eternal Flame, Follow Me, and I Want Your Love. 

Kerry Katona left the group in 2001 after becoming pregnant. After her exit from the band, she dove into a career in television. In 2004, she won the third edition of the British reality TV show, “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” Before this, she started a career in TV hosting as a presenter for ElimiDATE.

Kerry Katona was the runner-up of Big Brother 8 in 2011. She also appeared in the sixth series of the E4 reality series, “Celebs Go Dating.”

Kerry Katona’s relationships have been controversial, to say the least. She has five children from three marriages.

Katona first got married in 2002 to Westlife singer, Brian McFadden. They divorced in 2006 and Kerry went on to marry Mark Croft in 2007; their marriage lasted four years. Kerry’s most recent marriage happened in 2014 to George Kay but sadly ended in 2017.

She has two daughters with Brian McFadden; a daughter and a son with Mark Croft; and another daughter with George Kay.

On 21st August 2008, at the London High Court, she declared bankruptcy for failing to pay the final £82,000 of a £417,000 tax bill.

Since that time she has overcome her financial struggles and is now doing well for herself, primarily as a media personality.

Katona is now engaged to Ryan Mahoney whom she met on the Bumble dating app in 2018. They are even rumored to be walking down the aisle very soon, hmm… interesting.
