Early Life

Shiesty was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, in the Cane Creek Apartments located in the south side of Memphis. He briefly lived in Pflugerville, Texas as a teen but eventually moved back to Memphis where he enrolled in summer school to help him graduate high school.

Shiesty began pursuing a music career after high school, aged 18.

Career

Pooh Shiesty released his first single “Hell Night” in March 2019. The song featured his friend and rapper Big30, and the music video came out in February 2020.

His second commercial release was “Shiesty Summer”, which came out five months after “Hell Night”. The music video for “Shiesty Summer” was released just one day after the single came out. During this period he released several collaborative projects with other rappers such as “Choppa Talk” with Big30.

In March 2020, Shiesty released the visuals for his single “At It Again” but the audio came out 9 days later. That same month he released another single “Main Slime” which featured the rapper Moneybagg Yo.

After the success of several singles in 2020, Shiesty began receiving the attention of record producers in Memphis, and most notably, he was invited to sign on with Gucci Mane’s 1017 records. Shiesty and Mane went on to collaborate on a single called “Still Remember”, and the two appeared in the music video that was released in June 2020.

In September 2020 Shiesty released a single called “Twerksum” and the audio became his most streamed song of his career at the time. Shiesty’s most successful single in 2020 was called “Back in Blood” and it features rapper Lil Durk. The music video was released in February 2021 and was streamed over 50 million times on YouTube.

Personal Life

Pooh Shiesty was arrested in October 2020 in connection with a shooting that occurred at Bay Harbor Islands in Florida. The charges against him included armed robbery, criminal that, battery, and aggravated assault. He was released from custody the same day of his arrest.

In June 2021 Shiesty was again arrested in connection with a shooting at a nightclub in Miami-Dade. He was held in custody without bail even after the complainant and gunshot victim dropped the charges. Following the Miami-Dade incident, Shiesty was indicted when prosecutors linked him to a robbery in Bay Harbor Islands for which he had been initially arrested and released.
