Offset was born Kiari Kendrell Cephus on December 14, 1991, in Lawrenceville, Georgia. His father abandoned him and his mother when he was still four years old which resulted in him being raised by his Aunt Labatia Woodward who is Quavo’s mother. He was raised in Gwinnett County, Georgia, near Atlanta with his cousins Quavious Keyate Marshall and Kirshnik Khari Bell.
He was a dancer first before he entered the music industry as a rapper. When he was just eleven, he was one of Whitney Houston’s backup dancers for the music video of the song “Whatchulookinat” which was released in 2003.
When he was 17 years old, Offset wanted to have a better life for himself and his family so he decided to make some money out of his music and that’s when he formed the rap group Migos with his cousin Quavious or “Quavo” who is Takeoff’s uncle and Kirshnik as “Takeoff”.
