Yes, you heard us right – a film about Princess Diana. Didn’t think that was going to be made any time soon, did you?

Mind you, with lots of successful biopic pics cropping up all over the place at the moment we don’t suppose it’s particularly surprising.

This latest project is going to be directed by German born Oliver Hirschbiegel, it’s being shot in Britain this year and will concentrate on the last few years of her life.

It was announced yesterday that Naomi Watts would play Diana in the movie, which is going to be called Caught in Flight.

Naomi seemed pretty enthused about the project and released a statement saying it was an “honour” to have landed it. She added:

"Princess Diana was loved across the world and I look forward to rising to the challenge of playing her on screen."

Before filming can commence, the actress is still working on another movie project in Australia. She was seen emerging from the sea on a beach with a couple of handsome looking male co-stars as she filmed it. It’s a tough but someone’s got to do it we suppose.
