Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Whittle (who brought his girlfriend Carley Stenson along for support) and Ali Bastian all headed to Embassy last night to celebrate the fact that they’d made it through the first round of Strictly Come Dancing.

Meanwhile, it looks as though regular SCD viewers are already unhappy with the job Alesha Dixon has been doing as a judge on the show.

Apparently thousands of viewers have now taken to the BBC website to complain about the singer, saying she obviously lacks experience.

According to one report Alesha also kept asking her mother and grandmother - who were sitting behind her during the first show – for advice about what scores to give the contestants. One audience member said:

"When the dancers were being interviewed backstage the panel were off-camera. Alesha turned around in her chair between almost every dance and asked her family their view.

"We could see her mouthing, 'What do you think?' then asking for a thumbs-up or thumbs-down. I also heard her asking Bruno what he thought several times."

Oh dear. Now we watched SCD on Friday and we have to say we thought Alesha’s comments were pretty dull, but we put her seemingly bland opinions down to nerves.

What did you think, was she really that bad or are baffled as to what all the fuss is about?
