Ruprekha Banerjee was born in West Bengal, India on the 28th of July, 1984. Her father is a businessman, named Pradip Kr. Banerjee and her mother’s name is Kabita Banerjee. She spent the early days of her life in West Bengal and then her family along with her, moved to Agarpara, Kolkata.
She completed her education up to the 10th standard in Ramakrishna Mission Barrackpore School, and for completing her intermediate education till the 12th standard, she got enrolled in the Ariadaha.
Sarbamangala Vidyapith School. Later, she joined Vidyasagar College and ended her education at the University of Calcutta, earning an honors degree in Zoology.
She started learning music from her grandfather at the very early age of 6. She adopted the passion of singing by watching her grandfather and she called him her first guru. She has been a student of many diligent musicians including Arun Bhaduri, Maloy Banerjee, and Kanika Mishra.
She was the winner of a well-known Indian music competition, Fame Gurukul in 2005. She got huge fame after this show.
