Frankie Sandford was born on January 14, 1989, in Essex. At the age of three, she started taking dance lessons and when she was just nine years old, she began auditioning for different television shows. She won a contest for her performance of “Macavity” from the musical, Cats just when she was a teen.

She worked at a bar in the town where she lived during the week and as a sales assistant on Saturdays. She studied dance in her after-school hours.

She started her career by winning a place in the pop group, S Club Juniors. The group then did their TV show together titled S Club Junior: The Story and successfully released two albums and multiple singles together. On their first tour, the group announced that they would be changing their name to S Club 8 since the members of the band were getting older.

In 2007, Frankie auditioned to be in the girl band, The Saturdays. The group instantly got signed to Polydor and Fascination Records After their historic breakthrough in the United Kingdom, the group signed a deal with Island Def Jam and Mercury.
