Dorothy LeMay was given the name Dorothy Staten Alder at birth by her parents. She was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1954, in Los Angeles, California which is considered the Mecca of actors and actresses. It was perhaps this close proximity to Hollywood that inspired LeMay to pursue a career in acting. However, her family later moved to Dayton, Ohio where LeMay was raised and where she ultimately met her husband, Lee LeMay.
Before launching her career in adult movies, LeMay worked as a secretary at the University of California, Berkeley in the late 1970s. It was during this time that she first answered an ad in the Berkeley paper titled “Make $300 a day”, this was the ad that introduced her to the world of adult movies.
