Early Life

Jax was born and raised in Atlantic Beach, in New York. She developed an interest in music from an early age and would eventually go on to perform at talent shows, eventually becoming a contestant on American Idol.

Career

Ajax auditioned for the fourteenth installment of the popular talent show American Idol with a performance of the Beatles song Let Me Hold Your Hand. Later she performed the song Toxic by originally sand by Britney Spears in a segment of the show called Hollywood Week.

Jax sang another Beatles song called Let It Be for her final solo performance on the show. As a contestant on the show, Jax immediately won the support of several judges and was declared “safe” from elimination after her performance.

In April 2015, Jax was named the most successful contestant on American Idol from New Jersey. Jax performed a song by Janice Joplin called Piece of my Heart in Detroit Michigan at the Filmore event. Following her departure from American Idol, Jax along with other contestants from the show embarked on a world tour which started in Florida and ended in California.

Jax released her first post-Idol record La La Land on 6 January 2016, and the music video for the song came out the next day. The song was inspired by her performance on American Idol.

In August 2016, Jax announced that she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer but was later declared cancer free following treatment. In 2017, Jax released her first album called Funny, which debuted at #17 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums.

In January 2021, she signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records. In October the same year, she released the song Like My Father, which reached #48 on Billboard Pop Airplay.

Personal Life

In November 2021, Jax posted a video on TikTok in which she read an apology letter from her boyfriend who has been unfaithful. The video also featured violin music in the background by the musician Lindsey Sterling. After the video aired, Jax reported that she recieved hundreds of messages from fans also describing an apology after an affair by their partners.
