Michael Jackson was born on the 29th of August, 1958 in Indiana to Katherine Jackson and Joseph Jackson. Michael grew up with eight siblings, five brothers, and three sisters. In his childhood, he served as a part of the band, Jackson Brothers, formed by his father, Joseph Jackson. While being in the band, he experienced physical and emotional abuse by him. Michael’s youth was documented to be lonely and isolated.


Michael started off as a member of the band the Jackson 5, later renamed the Jacksons.

In the late 1980s, he sparked several controversies due to his changing appearance, lifestyle, and behavior. He was diagnosed with lupus in 1983 and vitiligo a few years later. Michael used fair-colored make-up to hide its damaging effects on the skin and also received two plastic surgeries. He also suffered from anorexia.

In 1993 and 2005, he was accused of child sexual abuse but was acquitted due to lack of evidence of criminal misconduct in his name.


In 2009, while he was in the process of rehearsing for his completely sold-out concerts, he died of an accidental propofol overdose, administered by Conrad Murray, his personal doctor. Conrad Murray was then charged with involuntary manslaughter.
