Early Life

Salman Khan’s father is the screenwriter Salim Khan. His mother, Shushila Charak, was briefly married to Salim Khan but the two separated and Salman Khan’s relationship with his father became hostile.

Khan has two brothers, Sohail Khan, Arbaz Khan, and two sisters, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and Atul Agnihotri. Khan graduated from St. Stanislaus High School and joined St. Xavier’s College but later dropped out.

Career

Khan made his Bollywood debut in a 1988 film called ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi’ in a supporting role. Soon after he was offered the lead role in the film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, a 1989 romantic drama directed by Sooraj R. Bajartya.

The film was a commercial success and led to Khan’s first nomination for a Filmfare award. The following year Khan starred in films such as ‘Baaghi: A Rebel For Love’, ‘Sanam Bewafa’, and ‘Patthar Ke Phool’.
