Patti Deutsch was born on December 16, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1961, Deutsch graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School and then attended four institutions within four years. The names of these institutions are: University of Southern California, Bennington College, the University of Texas at Austin, and Carnegie Mellon.
