Edu Manzano decided to move to the Philippines to enter the entertainment industry. He finished his college education at De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines.

During the 1990s, Edu Manzano was the president of the group Katipunan ng mga Artista ng Pelikulang Pilipino.

Edu was an actor on the ABS-CBN network for a long time before he left the entertainment industry in 2010 to run for the position of vice president in the Philippines.
