Tanya Roberts was born in Bronx, New York on the 15th of October, 1955. Her parents named her Victoria Leigh Blum. Her father’s name was Oscar Blum and he was a salesman. Her mother’s name was Dorothy Smith. Tanya’s father was Jewish while her mother was Irish. Her parents separated when she was in high school. She also has a sister, her name is Barbara.
At the age of 15, Tanya withdrew from her school to pursue her modeling career. She moved to New York. She decided to marry her boyfriend there. Her marriage was nullified by her mother saying that it was not right for her.
Tanya Roberts began her career as a model. She studied acting in Lee Strasberg and Uta Hagen in New York. She modeled for Ultra Brite, Coolray sunglasses, and Clairol. As a performing artist, she worked in several off-Broadway productions including Antigone, Picnic, A View From a Bridge, The Hydes of March, and Sextette. She moved to Hollywood in 1977 and began her on-screen acting career.
In 1980, she played the prominent role of Julie Rogers in Charlie’s Angels. It was the fifth season of that show which later ended in 1981. She then appeared in The Beast Master (1982) and Sheena (1984).
Tanya Roberts rose to fame by her role of the “bond girl”, Stacey Sutton in the James Bond movie A View to a Kill in 1985. She played the role against Roger Moore. and Sheena.
In the early 1990’s she appeared in Sanctum (1991) and Sins of Desire (1993). In 1998, she appeared in The 70’s Show. She played the role of Midge Pinciotti in that show but she had to leave the show in 2001 because of the poor health condition of her husband.
